| Creamy Peas and Bacon Pasta Recipe |
Cook the Pasta:
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Bacon:
In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain. Leave the bacon drippings in the skillet.
Sauté the Onion and Garlic:
In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the butter and heat over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the Peas and Cream:
Add the frozen peas to the skillet and sauté for a couple of minutes until they are heated through. Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for a few minutes to reduce slightly.
Combine the Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the creamy pea mixture. Toss everything together to coat the pasta with the sauce.
Add Cheese and Bacon:
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, reserving a little for garnish. Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce becomes creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
Divide the creamy peas and bacon pasta among serving plates. Top with the crispy bacon and a sprinkle of reserved grated Parmesan cheese.
Garnish:
If desired, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
Note: You can customize this recipe by adding other ingredients like sautéed mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, or even a touch of red pepper flakes for some heat. Feel free to adjust the quantities to match your preferences and the number of servings you need.
