Ingredients:
1 cup broken wheat (Dalia)
500g beef, boneless, cut into small pieces
1 cup split Bengal gram (chana dal)
1 cup split red lentils (masoor dal)
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
4-5 green chilies, chopped
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoons red chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1/2 cup cooking oil or ghee
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
Wash and soak broken wheat, Bengal gram, and red lentils separately for at least 2 hours.
In a large pot, add soaked lentils, broken wheat, beef pieces, chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt, and enough water to cover all ingredients.Cook on medium heat until meat and lentils are tender and fully cooked. You may need to add more water during cooking to prevent it from drying out and sticking to the bottom.Once cooked, use a hand blender or a masher to blend the mixture until smooth and creamy. In a separate pan, heat oil or ghee and fry the mixture for about 5-10 minutes to enhance the flavors.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
